Béré Region


PRESENTATION

The Béré Region is located in the Center-North of Côte d'Ivoire and is subdivided into three (03) Departments: Mankono (Capital), Kounahiri, and Dianra. It covers an area of 13,293 km2, which is 4.12% of the national territory.

  • Mankono, the capital of the region, is a Local Economic Connector (a small town that is at an embryonic stage of urbanization facilitating internal economies of scale, such as hosting a large company that processes local agricultural products) with an agricultural focus, dominated by cashew and cotton crops (Study on the Competitive Economic Pole Development Program - PEC, 2018). It has a subsoil rich in gold, diamonds, copper, nickel, and manganese.
  • An industrial zone exists in the Mankono department with an industrial land reserve of 121 hectares (MCIPPME, 2022);
  • Financial sector: 03 microfinance institutions are established there.
  • Mobile network coverage (July 2023): 88.26% of localities and 93.45% of the population are covered;
  • Health: The health infrastructure in the region includes most of the technical platforms.

  • Mining Resources: the region has reserves of gold, including in Dianra.
  • Tourism: the region's tourist offerings include:
  • ornamental rocks;
  • the village of weavers and dyers;
  • the dog cemetery;
  • the water sources (slides) of Tonuho and Kawakouho.

INVEST IN THE REGION

As part of the implementation of the National Development Plan (PND) 2021-2025, the Béré Region is included in the area covered by the Agro-pole "Pole for the Transformation of Food Crops" (Agro-pole 8).

Investment opportunities exist in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture and Agro-industry: Investments in the development of food crop sectors (Rice, Soybean), cash crop sectors (Cotton, Cashew), and the processing of these agricultural products.
  • Mining Resources: Exploration and exploitation of gold, diamond, copper, nickel, and manganese mines.
