  • Abengourou, the capital of the region and a Secondary Economic Connector (a city that has reached an intermediate stage of urbanization facilitating localization economies through competition among businesses in the same sector), has an economy based on agriculture, particularly cocoa, coffee, rubber, wood industry, and cashew nuts. It also plays a key role in logistics and trade with Ghana (Study on the Competitive Economic Pole Development Program - PEC, 2018);
  • An industrial zone exists there: located in the Abengourou department, housing industrial units with an industrial land reserve of 342 ha (MCIPPME, 2022);
  • Mobile network coverage (ARTCI, July 2023): 99.31% of localities and 99.65% of the population are covered.
  • Health: The health infrastructure in the region includes most of the technical platforms.
