Tchologo Region


PRESENTATION

The Tchologo Region is located in the North of Côte d'Ivoire and is subdivided into three (03) Departments: Ferkessédougou (Capital), Ouangolodougou, and Kong. It covers an area of 17,728 km2, which is 5.5% of the national area.

  • Ferkessédougou, the capital of the region, is a Local Economic Connector (a small town that is at an embryonic stage of urbanization facilitating internal economies of scale, such as hosting a large company that processes local agricultural products) whose economy is dominated by agriculture and livestock (Study on the Competitive Economic Pole Development Program - PEC, 2018);
  • There is (01) industrial zone located in the Ferkessédougou department (98 ha) as well as an industrial land reserve of 350 ha (MCIPPME, 2022);
  • Mobile network coverage (ARTCI, July 2023): 86.89% of localities and 91.36% of the population are covered.
  • Health: The health infrastructure in the region covers most of the technical platforms.

INVEST IN THE REGION

As part of the implementation of the National Development Plan 2021-2025 (PND 2021-2025), the Tchologo Region is included in the area covered by the Agro-pole for the transformation and export of fruits and cashew nuts (Agro-pole 1).

Investment opportunities exist in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture: Investments in hydro-agricultural development, irrigation infrastructure, support for production and storage, development of food crop sectors (Maize, Millet, Sorghum, Rice, Onions), cash crop sectors (Cotton, Cashew, Mango, etc.), and livestock sectors (Cattle, Sheep).
  • Infrastructure and trade: Implementation of the "Dry Port" Project with opportunities in import-export;
  • Mining resources: Exploration and exploitation of gold;
  • Tourism: Construction of higher-standard hotel complexes to attract tourists to the "Tchologo" destination.
