  • Bongouanou, the capital of the region, is a Local Economic Connector (a small town that is at an embryonic stage of urbanization facilitating internal economies of scale, such as hosting a large company that processes local agricultural products), with a strong agricultural vocation, particularly in cocoa, coffee, and for about fifteen years, oil palm, cashew, and rubber (Study on the Competitive Economic Pole Development Program - PEC, 2018). Furthermore, its proximity to the three (03) major cities of Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, and Bouaké represents a significant asset for its development.
  • An industrial zone exists in the Bongouanou department with an industrial land reserve of 40 ha (MCIPPME, 2022).
  • Two (02) banking institutions are established there.
  • Mobile network coverage (July 2023): 100% of localities and 100% of the population are covered.
