Lôh-Djiboua Region


PRESENTATION

The Lôh-Djiboua Region is located in the Central-West of Côte d'Ivoire and is subdivided into three (03) Departments: Divo (Capital), Guitry, and Lakota. It covers an area of 10,650 km², which is 3.30% of the national territory.

  • Divo, the capital of the region, is a Local Economic Connector (a small town that is at an embryonic stage of urbanization facilitating internal economies of scale, such as hosting a large company that processes local agricultural products) which is an area with high agricultural production (Study on the Competitive Economic Pole Development Program - PEC, 2018). Furthermore, the subsoil has mining resources (bauxite, gold, and manganese);
  • An industrial zone exists in the Divo department with an industrial land reserve of 102 ha (MCIPPME, 2022);
  • Financial sector: 06 commercial banks are established there;
  • Mobile network coverage: (ARTCI, July 2023): 100% of localities and 100% of the population are covered;
  • Health: The health infrastructure in the region covers most of the technical platforms.

INVEST IN THE REGION

As part of the implementation of the National Development Plan (PND) 2021-2025, the Lôh-Djiboua Region is included in the area covered by the Agro-pole "Academic Research and Transformation Hub" (Agro-pole 6).

Investment opportunities exist in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture and Agro-industry: Establishment of processing plants for cash crop production (cocoa, etc.) and industrial units for processing food products (rice, yam, cassava), development of citrus value chains;
  • Mining Resources: Exploration and exploitation of various mineral resources;
  • National Education: Construction of primary schools, colleges, high schools, and higher education institutions (public and private) with general, agricultural, mining, and arts and crafts focus;
  • Tourism: Promotion of Agritourism (tourism related to agriculture).
