Agreements and Conventions

The two countries cooperate mainly at the multilateral level within the framework of:

  • The World Trade Organization (WTO);

  • The United Nations (UN);

  • The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC);

  • The Islamic World Organization for Education, Science, and Culture.

However, cooperation between Côte d'Ivoire and Pakistan is marked by the signing of a few agreements, notably an information exchange agreement (texts, photos, videos, infographics) between the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP) and Pakistan Press International (PPI), the Pakistani news agency, signed on November 22, 2016, on the sidelines of the 5th World Congress of News Agencies held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

A. Main Exports from Côte d'Ivoire to Pakistan: Coffee, cashew nuts, raw cotton, cashew kernels, processed wood, textiles, and footwear.

B. Main Imports from Pakistan to Côte d'Ivoire: Petroleum products, plastics, iron, cast iron, steel and metal products, ceramics, glass, stones, mechanical machinery, and road transport equipment.

  • The value of bilateral trade reached 117.6 billion CFA francs in 2023, compared to 139.5 billion CFA francs in 2022;

  • Over the period from 2019 to 2023, the average value of Ivorian exports is estimated at 66.3 billion CFA francs per year, compared to 32.86 billion CFA francs per year for imports;

  • Over the period from 2019 to 2023, the trade balance was surplus for Côte d'Ivoire, except in 2019.
