I.1 Economic and financial cooperation
Several agreements exist between the two countries. These include:
- A Reciprocal Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement, signed in February 2016;
- Agreement establishing the Ivorian-Turkish Business Council, signed on 27 March 2015 in Istanbul ;
- An Air Service Agreement signed on 31 May 2012 in Istanbul ;
- A Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on 08 June 2005 in Côte d'Ivoire;
- A Trade Agreement signed on 08 June 2005 in Côte d'Ivoire.
- In addition, Côte d'Ivoire participated in the first Turkey/Africa Summit in Istanbul from 18 to 20 August 2008.
I.2 technical cooperation
During the official visit to Turkey of H. E. Mr Alassane OUATTARA, eight (08) Agreements were signed on March 26, 2015, in Ankara. These are the following Agreements:
- Framework Agreement on Military Cooperation, Training and Science ;
- Cooperation Agreement on Military Training;
- Security Cooperation Agreement;
- Agreement on the mutual abolition of Visas for holders of Diplomatic, Service and Special Passports (Document of ratification transmitted to Turkey through the Embassy in Ankara);
- Education Cooperation Agreement;
- Cooperation Agreement in the field of Youth and Sports;
- Cultural Cooperation Agreement;
- Cooperation Agreement in the field of Tourism.
During his working and friendship visit to the Republic of Turkey from 15 to 17 December 2014, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Mr Charles Koffi DIBY, proceeded with his Turkish counterpart, H.E. Mr Mevlüt ÇAVUSOGLU, on the signing of two (02) Cooperation Agreements, namely:
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the two (02) Ministries of Foreign Affairs on Political Consultations;
- A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Diplomatic Training, Exchange of Information and Documentation.
In addition, the Republic of Turkey has carried out several actions in favor of Côte d'Ivoire in particular in the fields of culture, health, security and capacity building. To this end, specifically:
- As regards training, Turkey has awarded 22 scholarships for the academic year 2015-2016;
- At the health level, on September 26, 2013, a donation of medical equipment worth 80 million FCFA was made to the Abidjan Heart Institute. In addition, a donation of 50 million FCFA for the construction of the mother-child hospital in Bingerville;
- With regard to security, Turkey provides technical support to the national police by training its officers in rapid intervention techniques for law enforcement operations, as well as by donating materials.
A. Main Cote d’Ivoire exports to TURKEY: cocoa and its derivatives, rubber and wood.
B. Main imports from Cote d’Ivoire of TURKEY: vegetable or animal oils, pig iron, iron and steel, lime and cement, boilers and machinery, miscellaneous food preparations and rubber articles.

• The value of bilateral trade reached CFAF 433.48 billion in 2022, compared to CFAF 377.6 billion in 2021;
• Over the period 2018-2022, the average value of Ivorian exports is estimated at 128.25 billion FCFA/year against 194.77 billion FCFA/year for imports;
• Over this period, the trade balance is in deficit for Côte d'Ivoire.
