Agreements and Conventions
As part of Ivorian-Algerian cooperation, several agreements and conventions have been signed between the two (02) countries in various fields:
- Memorandum of Understanding signed in Algiers in November 2017 between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Forum of Business Leaders of Côte d'Ivoire. It aims to promote partnerships and trade exchanges between the two (02) countries through the organization of an Algerian-Ivorian business forum.
- Three (03) agreements signed in May 2016 during the State visit of President Alassane OUATTARA to Algeria:
- Cooperation agreement in the agricultural sector
- Memorandum of Understanding in the field of technical education and vocational training
- Political Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two (02) countries
- Agreement establishing the Grand Joint Cooperation Commission between Côte d'Ivoire and Algeria, signed in Algiers in April 1981. The second session took place in 1996 in Abidjan.
Ratification of the Agreement between the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire on air transport, signed in Algiers on February 17, 1967.
Five (5) draft agreements are currently under negotiation:
- Cultural Cooperation Agreement
- Cooperation Agreement between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire
- Agreement on Water Resources Management and Development
- Agreement on the Management of Forest and Wildlife Resources
Cooperation Agreement in the Tourism Sector
Furthermore, each year, the Algerian government provides around thirty (30) scholarships to the Ivorian government in the fields of education and scientific research (Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental Surgery, Computer Science, Economics, andManagement Sciences) for Ivorian high school graduates. Scholarships are also granted to Ivorian students wishing to pursue their studies in Algeria in university and vocational training fields.
Beyond higher education, Algeria grants scholarships to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in the field of technical and vocational training.
It is worth noting that in terms of cultural exchanges, Côte d'Ivoire has been invited to various large-scale continental cultural events organized by Algeria. In this context, Côte d'Ivoire participated in the 2nd Pan-African Cultural Festival of Algiers (PANAF) in 2009. Every year, through the FMDE artistic group, Côte d'Ivoire takes part in the Arab-African Folkloric Dance Festival held in the city of Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria.

B. The main imported products are: petroleum products, cotton fabrics, iron, cast iron, steel, and pharmaceutical products.

The value of bilateral trade reached 106.2 billion FCFA in 2023, compared to 145.3 billion FCFA in 2022.
During the 2019-2020 period, the average value of Ivorian exports was estimated at 32.951 billion FCFA per year, compared to 50.151 billion FCFA per year for imports.
During the 2019-2020 period, Côte d'Ivoire had a trade surplus, but the balance became deficit in 2021 and 2023.
