Agreements and Conventions

Cooperation relations between Croatia and Côte d'Ivoire are framed within the political and economic cooperation between European Union countries and ACP countries, governed by the Cotonou Agreement.

This agreement, revised in 2005 and 2010, aims to promote a common strategic approach to poverty reduction and the gradual integration of ACP countries into the global economy. It establishes a bilateral political dialogue to exchange information, foster mutual understanding, and define shared commitments.

Under the Cotonou Agreement, trade relations evolve from a unilateral preferential regime to Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), which establish reciprocal free trade between the European Union and ACP countries.

Côte d'Ivoire and the European Union signed an Interim Economic Partnership Agreement on November 26, 2008, among 15 ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) member states, pending the progress of negotiations for the Regional Partnership Agreement (EPA) between West Africa and the EU.

The Interim EPA of Côte d'Ivoire was ratified by the National Assembly on August 12, 2016, and came into provisional application on September 3, 2016.
