Diplomatic Cooperation

As a member of the Commonwealth, Australia has focused its cooperation and support towards Africa, particularly through English-speaking countries. In recent years, the country has increasingly opened up to the Francophone world. In December 2016, Côte d'Ivoire became the first Francophone country to establish a diplomatic representation in Australia.

Economic, Financial, and Technical Cooperation

Australia strengthens its cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire through training, technical assistance, and its expertise in research to support governance in Côte d'Ivoire's mining and agricultural sectors. Australia also provides scholarships for capacity building of administrative personnel.

Australian companies are established in Côte d'Ivoire in various sectors.

In the trade sector, there is the company EQUIGOLD.

In the agricultural and mining sectors, there are the companies NEWCREST and PERSEUS RESOURCES.

Following the political crisis of 2011, Australia provided humanitarian support of 5 million Australian dollars to Côte d'Ivoire to help consolidate peace and security.

B. Main Imports: Fish, rice, machinery, paper, beverages, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, capital goods.
