Agreements and Conventions
Ivorian and Polish authorities are working to strengthen cooperation between their countries in the economic and commercial sectors. Polish businessmen are interested in Africa, and Côte d'Ivoire has enormous potential that may attract them.
As of today, the bilateral relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Poland have not yet seen the signing of technical cooperation agreements or financing agreements.
However, several agreements govern the relations between the two (02) countries through the European Union. These include, among others:
The revised Cotonou Agreement of 2005 and 2010 aims to promote a common strategic approach for poverty reduction and the gradual integration of Côte d'Ivoire into the global economy. It establishes a bilateral political dialogue to exchange information, foster mutual understanding, and define mutual commitments.
The signing of a Partnership Agreement between the EU and Côte d'Ivoire in the fishing sector for the period from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2013.;
The Ivory Coast and the European Union signed an Interim Economic Partnership Agreement on November 26, 2008, while awaiting the progress of negotiations for the Regional Partnership Agreement, which was concluded in 2014 after ten (10) years of discussions. As for the interim EPA of the Ivory Coast, it was ratified by the National Assembly on August 12, 2016, and has been in provisional application since September 3, 2016.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, through which the two countries decide to establish regular consultations on topics of mutual interest.
