Agreements and Conventions
I.1. Economic and Financial Agreement
An Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Economic Investments was signed between Qatar and Côte d'Ivoire on September 17, 2018, in Doha. This Agreement was ratified by Côte d'Ivoire in November 2019.
I.2. Technical Agreements
Several agreements were signed on September 17, 2018, during the visit of His Excellency Alassane OUATTARA to Qatar. These include:
An Agreement on the regulation of employment and labor in the Emirate of Qatar;
An Agreement establishing the Grand Joint Cooperation Commission;
An Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between Côte d'Ivoire and Qatar;
An Agreement on cooperation in Higher Education and Scientific Research between Côte d'Ivoire and the Emirate of Qatar;
An Agreement on Maritime Transport between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the Emirate of Qatar.
During the official visit of friendship and work by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, on December 22, 2017, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and Qatar signed four bilateral cooperation agreements. These agreements cover air services, youth, sports, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of culture.
Several draft agreements are currently under negotiation. These include:
A draft cooperation agreement between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the Government of the Emirate of Qatar in the field of Education and Technical Teaching;
A draft legal cooperation agreement between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the Government of the Emirate of Qatar;
A draft Protocol of Agreement on cooperation in the field of Solidarity, Promotion, and Protection of the Rights of Families, Women, and Children between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the Emirate of Qatar.
A. The main exported products are: processed wood, charcoal, and wooden products.
B. The main imported products are: plastics and chemicals.

The value of total bilateral trade reached 18.5 billion in 2023, compared to 22.7 billion in 2022.
Over the period from 2019 to 2023, the average value of Ivorian exports was 331 million CFA francs per year, compared to 15,300 million CFA francs per year for imports.
During this same period, the trade balance remained negative for Côte d'Ivoire.
