Agreements and Conventions
Ivory Coast and Malaysia cooperate mainly through international organizations to which both states are parties, although there is strong economic cooperation between the two countries.
Thus, the two countries are members of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), a world-class institution based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is one of the leading international organizations in the promotion of financial inclusion policies and regulation. Following an international call for applications, Ivory Coast was selected to host the headquarters of the AFI Regional Office for Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Moreover, Ivory Coast and Malaysia are signatory members of the multilateral convention related to tax treaties to prevent base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS). This convention allows the various signatory countries to transpose the results of the BEPS project into their networks of bilateral tax treaties.
