Agreements and Conventions

Cote d’Ivoire and the Central African Republic have virtually no agreements apart from this:

  • Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, signed on March 8, 1971;
  • An Air Transport Cooperation Agreement between the two countries was initialed on August 11, 2004 and has been awaiting signature ever since.

The two (02) countries have agreed not to require entry visas for their nationals.

In March 2007, the National Office for Technical Studies and Development (BNETD) and the Central African authorities signed an advisory and technical assistance agreement. Through this convention, Cote d’Ivoire should contribute to the reconstruction and development of this country.

In addition, the Government of the Central African Republic has undertaken to establish and maintain a framework for exchanges and consultation with BNETD. Thus, the BNETD was asked for the realization of economic infrastructures as well as for the elaboration of the master plan of development and urbanism of the city of Bangui.

A. The main products exported are: textiles and footwear, plastics, paper, cardboard and publishing products, precision and optical devices and mechanical and electrical appliances

B. The main imported products are : almost non-existent. Imported goods are other consumer goods.

  • Over the period 2018-2022, the average value of Ivorian exports is estimated at 3.339 billion of CFAF / year against 11 billion of CFAF / year for imports.
  • Over the period 2018-2022, the trade balance is in surplus for Cote d’Ivoire.
